Sparrow Ridge Farms
Website design and total branding for a family owned farm in Chester County, PA
Sparrow Ridge Farm is a family owned company formed by Jess Kardish and Matt Hritz. The owners wanted a brand identity that was fun, but that felt classic to an old farm sign style. I chose a Serif font that resembled that classic look, while still having a modern touch to it. The sparrows on either side are illustrations I created and placed to balance out the type and heavier border of the logo. They add brand recognition and encapsulate the brand name.

The colors came very naturally to this project. The palette needed to be warm, friendly, and feel very veggie without getting too dark or too oversaturated. These colors were a perfect balance of everything.

Next, I developed a set of playful veggie illustrations. I wanted there to be small moments of personality woven throughout the brand. For a family business, the real selling point is the humanity behind it. There is grit, care, and a beautiful story of people who built something their own way. These illustrations felt like the right way to honor that, adding warmth and something that feels very human.
Illustrations
Three patches were designed for merchandise. Each one borrows from the illustration set and pairs it with a simple, feel-good message. I wanted these to feel comforting and fun.

All of the brand pieces came together in the website, and it turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the whole project. The page I'm most proud of is the Our Story page. I asked Jess and Matt to jot down a few timeline moments, and we gathered photos. The goal of this page was to make whoever lands on that page feel like they already know this family and company.
